Disability Support Worker

(Group Programs - Dungeons & Dragons, Music, Sports & Recreation)

We're seeking engaging Disability Support Workers to lead and facilitate group programs that foster capacity-building and create meaningful social connections. If you have experience in disability support and a passion for Dungeons & Dragons, music, or sports & recreation, we want to hear from you! We're looking for individuals who can create engaging and neuroaffirming environments where participants can thrive. You'll lead group activities that not only entertain but also build essential skills and confidence. Your ability to connect with participants, adapt to their individual needs, and promote independence is paramount. We prioritise capacity-building, ensuring our clients are empowered to achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives.

This role offers a unique opportunity to combine your support work expertise with your personal interests, creating enriching experiences for our clients, and allowing you to explore new ways to engage with the individuals we support. As a Disability Support Worker in our group programs, you'll collaborate with a supportive multidisciplinary team, implement person-centered approaches, and contribute to the ongoing development of our services. Your responsibilities will include facilitating group activities, documenting participant progress, and ensuring a safe and inclusive environment. Opportunities may arise for additional individual support work for those interested. A valid driver's licence and the ability to provide transport for clients before and after programs is a bonus, but not mandatory. We offer flexible work arrangements, ongoing professional development, and the chance to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in providing disability support services.
  • Demonstrated interest and ability to lead group programs related to Dungeons & Dragons, music, or sports & recreation.
  • Understanding of and commitment to neuroaffirming practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Valid driver's licence (desirable).
