Esmie Human

Senior Paediatric Occupational Therapist

Esmie Human moved to Australia with her family after spending several wonderful years living and working in New Zealand. She is excited to embrace the sunshine and outdoor lifestyle, and continues to bring her passion for helping children thrive through meaningful, play-based learning.

Esmie loves exploring the world through the eyes of her two boys, Sean  and Rudi, who inspire her daily both personally and professionally. She believes that a family-centred approach is essential to the success of therapy, working in partnership with families to unlock each child’s unique potential.

Esmie completed her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2005 at the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa. After gaining early experience in a paediatric private practice, she developed a deep interest in sensory integration therapy and later completed a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (Neurological and Developmental Disorders) in 2013.

Since then, Esmie has worked extensively in sensory and developmental paediatrics, supporting children across a wide range of ages and abilities. She is passionate about helping children engage in learning using all their senses and creating playful, positive experiences that build confidence and independence. Esmie has been working in the pediatric field for over 20 years and working with babies to teenagers.

Esmie continues to nurture her professional curiosity and one day hopes to complete her doctorate in paediatric occupational therapy.
